Bill Murray’s former suburban New York home has hit the market for $2.07 million.
Bill Murray’s suburban New York home, which he lived in throughout the 1980s, at the height of his career, is listed for $2.07 million.
At the time, Murray had just landed his first starring role in the movie “Meatballs.”
In 1982, while living at the home, he collaborated with the late writer-director Harold Ramis and starred in a string of box-office hits, including “Caddyshack,” “Stripes” and “Tootsie.”
He also filmed “Ghostbusters” before selling the house in 1990.
Aptly known as The Manse, the property is located just 25 minutes from the city, in the heart of the A-list favored Snedens Landing community.
Built back in 1868, the idyllic Gothic Revival-style home underwent a $1 million restoration in 2016, the listing notes.
Comprised of four bedrooms and three bathrooms, the now yellow-painted home also features traditional front and rear porches, restored wide pine floors, crown moldings and three fireplaces including a Victorian fireplace.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the home is the bathtub, which once belonged to Uma Thurman. The tub, previously in a home she owned, was re-glazed and encased in the hallway bathroom renovation.
The country kitchen has a fireplace/pizza oven, marble counters and a separate butler’s pantry.
A fenced yard completes the home.
It is a short walk to the Hudson River, tennis courts and a library.
Richard Ellis, of Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty, has the listing.
Murray still has another home nearby, which he bought directly after leaving this now listed abode. (He lived in this home while renovating the other.)
In recent years, Murray has been the subject of controversy following allegations that he was violent or sexually harassed fellow players.
Shortly after the allegations surfaced, Geena Davis, in her memoir, “Dying of Politeness,” accused Murray of harassment during the filming of “Quick Change,” which was released in 1990.
This would mean he was living in the home at the time of the alleged incident.
Murray currently stars in the Marvel movie “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which is in theaters.
