Modern Family star Rico Rodriguez looked all grown up while attending the premiere of Shazam! Fury of the Gods in Los Angeles, California, Tuesday.
The 24-year-old actor – who rose to fame as cherubic child star Manny Delgado in the hit ABC series – showed off his more mature look as he wore longer curls and rocked a beard for the event.
Rodriguez showed off his cool style in a black and white letterman jacket, a pair of black jeans and olive sneakers.
The Texas-born entertainer accessorized the outfit with a pair of black glasses and a silver chain.
The star-studded Shazam! The Fury of the Gods premiere also drew appearances from Helen Mirren, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody and Meagan Good among other stars.
The sequel to 2019’s Shazam is the first of four DCEU films arriving in 2023, hitting theaters on March 17, followed by The Flash (June 16), Blue Bettle (August 18) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 25).
Late last month, Warner Bros. released the new trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which showed new action-packed footage.
Zachary Levi returns as the title character – the adult superhero that Billy Batson (Asher Angel) becomes after being given super powers by a wizard (Djimon Hounsou) in the original 2019 Shazam!
Rodriguez became part of the Modern Family cast when he was just 10 years old.
He portrayed a sweet and smart boy with a good sense of humor who was overprotective of his mother.
The sitcom depicted the everyday life of three connected family units, all very different from each other.
Modern Family ran for 11 seasons – 250 episodes – over 10 years, from 2009 to 2020, with Rico playing the son of Gloria Delgado Pritchett (Sofia Vergara) and stepson of Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill).
The show also starred Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Sarah Hyland, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ariel Winter, among others.
Despite his young age, Modern Family was not the actor’s first role.
He previously had small roles on My Name is Earl, Nip/Tuck, ER and NCIS, following his sister Raini into acting.
Before the final season of the show, he shared how difficult it would be to say goodbye to his on-screen family.
‘It will be hard. I’ve been on this show for 11 amazing years and this is my family,” he told HollywoodLife.
“They’re my second family, so I know when we finish in March, I think we’ll come back and start up in July.”
‘It gets weird when that time of year comes around again and we know we’re not going to get together to start filming again. It will definitely be strange and an adjustment period’.
After the show ended, he had the opportunity to reunite with Sofia Vergara during a guest appearance on America’s Got Talent, where she is a judge.
‘She treats me like one of her children. She’s definitely like my second mother,’ he said of the reunion.
