Former WINNER member Nam Tae Hyun has been charged by the police with drunk driving.
On March 8, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station officially announced that they were investigating Nam Tae Hyun for drunk driving.
According to the police, Nam Tae Hyun opened at 03:20 KST that day his car door while parked on the side of the road and hit a passing taxi, breaking the taxi’s wing mirror. Afterwards, he drove about 20 meters (about 66 feet).
When the police arrived at the scene of the accident, Nam Tae Hyun’s blood alcohol level was found to be 0.114 percent, a level high enough for his driver’s license to be suspended (0.08 percent or higher).
Although the police immediately booked Nam Tae Hyun on the spot, he was so severely intoxicated that they chose to take him home for further questioning at a later date.
Before returning home, the singer told police he was waiting for a designated driver service at the time of the incident.
A police spokesman commented: “We plan to recall Nam to investigate the details of the accident.”
