“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” created box office magic on its opening night.
“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” showed superhero powers on its opening night, taking in $11.7 million in sales Friday, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.
The Post gave the sequel to the original 2019 “0 stars for a teenage train wreck”.
“Scream VI,” which was in first place last week, screamed down to second place with close to $5.2 million in sales.
The horror film, the first in the slasher series set in New York City, had an opening weekend of $44.5 million, the highest of any in the franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut, “Creed III,” is still pulling its weight, taking third prize this Friday, taking home close to $4.36 million.
Sci-fi actioner “65” landed in fourth place with a tally of nearly $1.6 million.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” came in fifth, earning close to $1.2 million.
