Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski took the runway by storm in various sexy looks as they unveiled Versace’s latest fall/winter collection during a show at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Thursday.
After taking a step back from modeling after giving birth to daughter Khai, two, in 2020, the Next In Fashion host, 27, proved she’s still one of the queens of the catwalk as she turned heads in a glamorous dress with a semi-sheer corset bodice and billowing satin bottom.
The blonde bombshell sported exaggerated black winged eyeliner, chunky pearl necklace and nude nail polish as she showed off the Italian designer’s eye-catching floor-length dress with a plunging neckline.
Later, she slipped into a structured black blazer with black and white buttons, long skirt, gloves, crocodile-embossed leather shoes and a coordinating bag.
Her longtime friend, also 27, who shot to fame on her family’s reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians at 11, wore a thigh-skimming dress with a peplum waist and puffed sleeves.
Jenner’s chic ensemble was styled with a large statement necklace, black tights, a small pink handbag covered in silver frills and a pair of coordinating heels.
As she paraded her long legs down the runway in her short mini dress, the 818 Tequila founder let her brunette locks cascade down her back in loose waves.
For makeup, she wore the same heavily drawn eyeliner as Hadid, a heavy sweep of blush on the apples of her cheeks and maroon lip gloss.
Ratajkowski’s look apparently paid homage to Audrey Hepburn’s iconic look in the film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, as she rocked a tea-length black dress, matching gloves and stiletto heels.
Like Jenner, she carried a pink purse and edgy makeup that made her dark brown eyes pop.
The legendary supermodels were watched by a star-studded audience that included Demi Moore, her daughter Rumer Willis, Cher, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, Paris Hilton and Anne Hathaway sitting in the front row.
The Flowers singer rocked a head full of blonde and black curls as she posed up a storm at the Pacific Design Center in a very edgy but glamorous ombre dress with a thigh-high slit.
Dua, meanwhile, wowed in an old Hollywood look complete with a classic black dress that nipped in at her waist and romantic waves.
Paris literally dazzled in a sparkling silver mini dress accessorized with sheer gloves and sheer high heels.
As for Anne, the Princess Diaries actress showed off her edgy side in a sexy leather mini dress, tights and leather boots.
Miley was a sight to behold with her eyes accentuated with professional shadow, a hint of blush on her cheeks and a pink pout.
The Wrecking Ball singer looked a showstopper in a pink and black dress with a dramatic leg slit and accessorized with fine silver chains
She upped the glamor with a chunky silver bracelet and strappy heels.
Her hair, in shades of blonde and black, was styled into messy curls and fell down in front of her chest.
Donatella Versace, who took the runway herself after the show, received a standing ovation.
Versace said ‘with this collection’ she would put herself ‘to the test’.
‘It felt like a challenge. I am at home in Milan. Showing in Los Angeles was getting out of my comfort zone. When I create a collection, I want to feel uncertain… Maybe I’m crazy, but it’s the question that helps me grow and improve,’ she told L’Officiel.
The designer continued: ‘I wanted luxury after all the street style of the last few years. I worked to improve the foundations of Maison Versace, for Gianni’s work. I started with a collection from 1995 and I found a renewed desire for tailoring, architecture, shapes and cuts.’
Following her choice to show the collection in Los Angeles, she said she wanted a ‘change’ this season.
“Although I love Milan, which has made great strides as a metropolis and as a fashion city with a global resonance, I wanted to experience a different environment,” Donatella told the outlet. “I also longed to do something outdoors with a more direct, strong contact with nature. I felt the need to create a very special experience. That’s why I thought of Los Angeles – a city that I both love and am deeply attached to.’
When asked what the city means to her, she said: ‘I go to LA a lot. I love the two stories it tells. The most glamorous: one of cinema and celebrities. But also one of nature – of the boys playing sports on the beach. Healthy, beautiful, athletic.’
In tandem with the show, she also launched a scholarship program dedicated to fashion students from the LGTBQ+ community.
In connection with the idea, Donatella said ‘it’s an initiative’ that she ‘wholeheartedly’ believes in.
“It has been a true honor to visit the LGBT Center in Los Angeles to officially launch this mentorship program created with the CFDA to support young students from the LGBTQ+ community while interacting with them directly,” she said.
