Naomi Watts and Jodie Turner-Smith both looked smart at the 2023 Gem Awards in New York City on Friday.
Watts, 54 – who recently looked radiant in a white Givenchy gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars party – donned a vibrant black dress that hugged her figure and showed off her sculpted arms.
She wore her trademark blonde hair in a bob and sported a dark crimson lip, giving her radiant complexion a dramatic pop of color.
Turner-Smith, 36, turned heads in her beautiful billowy black and white striped suit, which highlighted her statuesque frame to perfection.
Jodie’s shiny hair flowed down in an edgy style as she opted for dark purple lips and a designer black clutch.
Watt sparkled in jewelry by Anita Ko, while Turner-Smith adorned each ear with elaborate diamond creations and flaunted a dazzling ruby on her hand.
The GEM Awards are the Oscars of the jewelery industry and honor designers and leaders who have advanced “the visibility of fine jewelery and watches”.
The A-list soiree was held at Cipriani 42nd Street, where the biggest names in fine jewelry appeared.
Also making a splash at the ceremony was Brad Pitt’s girlfriend Ines de Ramon, who put on a busty display in a plunging black dress. The look featured a high slit to showcase her long legs
Turner-Smith is set to star in the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte, which is slated for a 2024 release on Disney+.
According to the mystery show’s official premise, The Acolyte takes place ‘approx. 100 years before the prequel film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.’
The central story will reportedly revolve around ‘a former Padawan (who) reunites with his Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever expected.’
Watts will soon be seen playing one of the mid-century’s most glamorous women as she takes on the role of fashion icon Babe Paley in the second season of Feud.
Based on Laurence Leamer’s bestselling book, Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era, the second season will follow the famous implosion of New York High Society, when Truman Capote betrayed the Manhattan elite by, among other things. them in his fiction.
The author of In Cold Blood and Breakfast at Tiffany’s blew a hole in the upper crust of the rich and powerful when in 1975 he published an excerpt of his unfinished novel Answered Prayers.
The mystery novel turned out to be a sordid tale that blasted a number of his closest friends who happened to be the smartest women of their time.
Watts will be joined by Chloe Sevigny, who plays legendary socialite CZ Guest, while actresses Diane Lane and Calista Flockhart will also be featured.
SAG Award winner Tom Hollander plays Truman Capote and reportedly shaved his head to better portray the controversial author.
