Nick Carter has claimed he has witnesses who will debunk a woman’s claim that he sexually assaulted her back in the early 2000s.

The Backstreet Boy, 43, has filed new legal documents claiming to have a dozen witnesses who will swear that the alleged victim’s accusations are ‘factually impossible,’ according to TMZ.

Shannon Ruth filed a lawsuit on December 2, 2022 for $30,000 in damages, accusing the Larger Than Life singer of taking her to his bus, plying her with alcohol, forcing her to perform oral sex and then raping her. The alleged incident occurred in 2001 when she was 17 and a minor.

Ruth also claims she contracted a sexually transmitted infection, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) from the alleged assault, having been a virgin beforehand.

The woman claimed she met Nick while standing in line for autographs.

She has also stated that she is autistic and has cerebral palsy.

The Billboard Music Award winner, for his part, claims that there was no autograph line on the day in question and that fans did not have access to the buses, and that fans, security personnel and a talent manager will testify to that.

The legal documents also claim that a person who was a friend of the accuser at the time said she does not have autism or cerebral palsy.

The witness also revealed that they do not believe that Shannon was at the concert.

Nick has always denied the allegations and is suing for $2.35 million.

That’s the amount he and his bandmates have reportedly lost after having to cancel appearances and endorsements because of the sexual assault allegations.

He and his legal team claim that Shannon has been manipulated by a father and daughter, Jerome and Melissa Schuman, into making the false allegations as an attempt to blackmail him.

Melissa Schuman, formerly of the group Dream, claimed she met Nick while they were making the film The Hollow in 2002, publishing her claims in a since-deleted 2017 blog post.

Coached: Nick’s legal team claims Shannon is being coached by singer Melissa Schuman and her father. The Dream group member alleged that Nick raped her in 2003 while she and other friends were hanging out at Nick’s house (pictured in Los Angeles in 2016)

The actress claimed the singer raped her while they were hanging out at his home with friends in 2003.

Nick denied the allegations and the Los Angeles District Attorney did not pursue criminal charges because the statute of limitations had expired, according to CNN.

The Incomplete artist also claims that Shannon’s former legal team backed down after they were presented with his information.

Countersuit: Nick has countersued for $2.35 million, the amount he claims the Backstreet Boys lost in canceled shows and endorsements as a result of the sexual assault allegations (pictured in New York in 2019)

At the time of the filing, Nick’s attorney, Michael Holtz, told TMZ, “As our counterclaim details, Nick has been the target of a malicious and protracted conspiracy.”

‘He has never done the monstrous things of which he has been accused;’ the lawyer wrote: ‘In fact, he is the victim of a calculated and concerted disinformation campaign designed to destroy his reputation.’

‘He looks forward to presenting the truth, vindicating himself in court and putting an end to the smears and attempted shakedowns for good.’
