China issued an action statement on Monday outlining its plan for promoting further international cooperation in space technology and exploration and working with other countries and international organizations within the framework of the United Nations. The document was issued at the 2022 United Nations/China 2nd Global Partnership Workshop on Space Exploration and Innovation, which started Monday in Haikou, capital city of the southern island province of Hainan. The workshop, co-sponsored by the China National Space Administration (CNSA), the Hainan provincial people’s government, and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), focuses on the theme of ‘building new space exploration partnership’. Xu Hongliang, spokesman for the CNSA said that China is willing to work with space agencies and international organizations around the world to promote the vigorous development of the human space industry within the framework of the United Nations in fields like rules-making, strategic planning, carrying out space missions, as well as scientific data sharing and application.
