Home tied to Joe Mixon part of crime scene after gunshot report

                An investigation is underway in Anderson Township after police say a juvenile was injured after shots were fired outside a home Monday night.  According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 7900 block of Ayers Road around  8:25 p.m. for a report of shots fired. A juvenile was taken to Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Authorities have not shared the juvenile's age or any suspect information.  The Forest Hills School District confirmed to WLWT that the injured person was a student at Anderson High School.  "AHS administrators and staff are working to support this student and their family at this time. The district has been in contact with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office regarding their investigation into this incident, which occurred after school and off school property," the school district said. said.  Neighbors told WLWT that teenagers were in the area playing Nerf Wars, also known as Dart Wars.  "We got together last night to talk about it and share, you know, what we knew. And that's what we know so far, that once again seven rounds were fired because they were playing Nerf Wars and apparently went into one of the neighbor's yards back here and that neighbor opened fire," said neighbor Tracy Schaeper.  Deputies executed a search warrant for a home in the 7900 block of Ayers Road and collected evidence that will be part of the investigation, the sheriff's office said.  Detectives will continue to examine evidence and conduct interviews and plan to provide an update later this week, the sheriff's office said.  "We can confirm that part of the crime scene involves a home associated with Bengals player Joe Mixon," the sheriff's office said in a statement.  The house in question is the same house that was listed as Joe Mixon's in February when he was charged in an arrest warrant with pointing a gun at a woman and threatening her.  The charge was later dismissed and the case was reassigned.  It is not clear if he still lives there.  A trust is listed as the owner of the property.  Authorities are still working to determine exactly who was involved and what led up to the shooting.  WLWT's cameras were on the scene as police tried to piece together what happened overnight.  The investigation lasted well into the night, with a large police presence outside the home and deputies also going in and out of the home.  Law enforcement has not said if Mixon is connected to this incident in any way.  WLWT spoke with Joe Mixon's sister Shalonda, who said her brother was not involved in the incident.  This is news and we will update with more information as we learn more.
