The Carolina Hurricanes and the Boston Bruins meet in NHL action from the TD Garden on Friday afternoon.
The Carolina Hurricanes will look to rebound from a 4-0 loss at the hands of the Arizona Coyotes in their last game. Martin Necas has a team-high 23 points with 9 goals and a team-high 14 assists while Sebastian Aho also has 13 assists along with 9 goals as part of his 22 points. Andrei Svechnikov also has 20 points with a team-high 13 goals this season. Frederik Andersen has gone 5-3 with a 2.72 GAA and an .891 save percentage while Antti Raanta is 3-2-2 with a 2.53 GAA and a .902 save percentage in goal for Carolina so far this season.
The Boston Bruins will look to bounce back after a 5-2 loss to the Florida Panthers last time out. David Pastrnak has 30 points with team-highs of 13 goals and 17 assists while Hampus Lindholm has 18 points with 4 goals and 14 assists. Patrice Bergeron’s also got 18 points with 9 goals and 9 assists while Jake DeBrusk has 7 goals as well this season. Linus Ullmark’s gone 13-1 with a 1.96 GAA and a .936 save percentage while Jeremy Swayman’s gone 3-2 with a 3.08 GAA and an .885 save percentage this season.
Carolina is 0-4 in their last 4 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Boston is 5-0 in their last 5 games against the Metropolitan division and 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games following a loss by 3 or more goals.
I get the case to be made for Carolina in some spots, but not against a Boston Bruins team that’s been unstoppable on home ice. I know the run for the Bruins can’t last forever, but they just seem to be impervious to any damage on home ice as they keep finding ways to win. I haven’t been sold on the ‘Canes in some of their recent games, so I’ll side with the Bruins at home in this one.
