The Hattula family in the St. The Martin community kicked off its Christmas light display.
From now until New Year, you and your family can turn on 101.7 FM and drive to their home for a light show.
The address is 6917 Southwind Drive.
The radio station plays Christmas music synced to the light display.
The family spends over 350 hours preparing for the show.
Every year the display grows, and this year there are over 72,000 lights and other changes.
“We have a second mega tree. there’s two 27 foot mega trees. We added another this year, each one of those has around 4,000 lights on it. The arches in the driveway and down here on the side of the driveway are new. We added more candy canes and a couple more ornaments and things like that,” said John Hattula, the homeowner. “We’ve honestly run out of room in our yard. I’ve talked to my neighbor and we’re going to expand there next year.”
Believe it or not but because the lights are LED, the Hattula family’s electric bill remains pretty consistent all year.
Crafting the display is a hobby for Hattula.
He loves the happiness it brings to families that come to watch.
